The term Artist has the wide ranging definition and indicates wide range of activities to do with creating art, practicing and or demonstrating the arts. As deliberated, both historical and present day, defining the notion of the artists would continue to be difficult.

The word art is said to have been derived from the Latin ‘ars’ which perhaps means ‘skill method’ or ‘technique’ has connections of beauty.

So far the Oxford English Dictionary is concerned; it reflects broader meanings of the word artists such as: the learned persons or Masters of Arts; the persons pursuing the practical science, traditionally medicines, astrology, alchemy or chemistry; the follower of pursuit wherein the skill comes by study other than theories; the follower of the manual art like mechanism; the persons making their crafts as fine arts and the persons cultivating one of the fine arts – conventionally the arts presided over by the muses.

Many present-day descriptions of ‘artists’ and ‘art’ are highly reliant on culture, resisting artistic direction, in precisely the way the characteristics composing beauty and beautiful, cannot be regimented simply without corruption into brashness. The artists also may be defined unofficially as the persons expressing themselves through a medium. Artists cannot be restricted to any particular stream, but they specialize in their own fields, by the way.
